Quarter Everesting on Yeghjervasar — 2212 meters of vertical in one day

On July 12, our Trialeti Vanadzor team took on a serious challenge — a Quarter Everesting: 2212 meters of vertical gain, all on foot, all on trails. This wasn’t just a training run — it was a test of endurance, mindset, and love for the mountains.

We chose Mount Yeghjervasar (elevation 2559 m) for the route — a rugged but accessible peak, perfect for mountain running. At 7:00 AM, a group of runners left Vanadzor and headed to the trailhead, where we met the mastermind behind this challenge — Egor from Dilijan.

At 8:00 AM, the climb began.
And, in true trail fashion, we were soon joined by two stray dogs who decided this wild adventure was theirs too — and they ran the entire route with us like true pros.

🌲 About the Route

We have to highlight the trail itself — a true summer gem. Roughly 50% of the climb winds through forest, offering shade and soft footing. Around the halfway point, there’s a cold mountain stream — perfect for a mid-ascent cooldown.

Of the seven runners who started, two decided to go all the way and complete the Quarter Everesting attempt, which meant summiting Yeghjervasar twice. The others took on a solid vertical day with over 1000 m of climbing — and just as much mountain joy.

☀️ The Weather

The sun was relentless: clear skies and blazing heat from early morning in Dilijan made the effort even more intense. But everyone pushed through — the pace was steady, and the group energy was strong and positive.

We finished the day the best way possible — gathering back at the trailhead under the shade of a tree, where a watermelon that had been chilling in the mountain stream was waiting for us.

That’s how the day went for Trialeti Vanadzor.
And more adventures are coming. Join us for future runs and challenges — we’re always open to new people, new trails, and new stories.
