Vanadzor Botanical Garden and Artek Camp


 This Friday, the Trialeti team went running in the Botanical Garden! Fresh air and the lush greenery create a favorable environment for training. We also made a stop at Artek - an abandoned pioneer camp for children that was very popular during Soviet times. Now, only ruins remain of it. However, the place is still very beautiful and convenient for runs!

On July 12, our Trialeti Vanadzor team took on a serious challenge — a Quarter Everesting : 2212 meters of vertical gain, all on foot, all on trails. This wasn’t just a training run — it was a test of endurance, mindset, and love for the mountains. We chose Mount Yeghjervasar (elevation 2559 m) for the route — a rugged but accessible peak, perfect for mountain running. At 7:00 AM, a group of runners left Vanadzor and headed to the trailhead, where we met the mastermind behind this challenge — Egor from Dilijan. At 8:00 AM, the climb began. And, in true trail fashion, we were soon joined by two stray dogs who decided this wild adventure was theirs too — and they ran the entire route with us like true pros . 🌲 About the Route We have to highlight the trail itself — a true summer gem . Poodle Run (ParkRun Vanadzor) - June 2025

On June 21, 2025, the first ParkRun in Vanadzor took place under the name "Poodle Run," organized by the sports club Trialeti Vanadzor. The run was held in Sayat-Nova Park and gathered 21 participants, including guests from Dilijan and Yerevan. After the run, participants enjoyed a tea gathering at Poodle Coffee ! We will continue working to establish a strong ParkRun culture here in Vanadzor.

  A Historic Day for Armenian Endurance: Half Everesting Conquered! On July 27 , a milestone event took place — not only for Trialeti Vanadzor as a club, but for the entire history of endurance sports in Armenia. The team organized its first official attempt at a Half Everesting — that means gaining 4424 meters of vertical elevation in a single trail running activity. Just like during the Quarter Everesting challenge, the chosen peak was Mount Yeghjervasar , located in the stunning Dilijan National Park. Early in the morning, Ivan Biryukov and Egor Smirnov set off on their first ascent. The weather was kind to them — the first two climbs were shaded by alternating clouds, making the effort more bearable. During the second ascent, they were joined by Shushanik Saakyan , who brought amazing energy and support to the team.
